Flipped in Place (Characters flipped, order preserved)

Every letter in the alphabet has a Unicode counterpart that resembles its upside-down form. These characters live in the International Phonetic Alphabet extensions, mathematical symbol blocks, and Latin extended ranges that are part of the Unicode standard.
The Upside Down style does two things: it substitutes each letter with its flipped version, then reverses the entire string. This means the first letter of your original text ends up at the right side of the output. When you rotate the whole thing 180 degrees, the letters are right-side up and read left to right again.
The Flipped in Place style only does the character substitution without reversing. Each letter looks individually flipped, but the word order stays the same. This is useful when you want a disorienting look without the reversed reading direction.
Each letter is replaced with a Unicode character that looks like the upside-down version of that letter, then the entire string is reversed. The result reads correctly when you rotate it 180 degrees. The characters come from phonetic alphabet extensions, mathematical symbols, and Latin extended blocks built into Unicode.
Upside Down replaces each letter with its flipped equivalent and also reverses the order of the entire string. When you physically flip your screen or phone, it reads normally from left to right. Flipped in Place only substitutes the characters without reversing, so the word order stays the same but each letter appears individually flipped.
Upside down text works anywhere that renders Unicode: Discord messages, Twitter and X posts, Instagram bios, Reddit posts, YouTube comments, Facebook posts, and gaming display names. It is plain Unicode text so no image or special font is required.
Some letters are symmetrical or have no good Unicode equivalent for the flipped version. The letters o, x, s, and z look essentially the same upside down. For characters with no exact Unicode match, the closest phonetic or mathematical symbol is used as a substitute.
Yes. The characters are standard Unicode and render on every modern mobile operating system including iOS and Android. Some very old devices or apps with limited font coverage may show boxes for certain characters, but this is rare.
Discord usernames accept Unicode so upside down text works as a display name. Server nicknames also support it. Keep in mind that some platform username fields restrict certain Unicode ranges, so test before committing to a permanent name.
